GENViewer is an easy-to-use program that allows you to read and analyse genealogy files. The main advantage of GENViewer is its capacity of quickly manipulate big genealogy files with different file formats, including GEDCOM, PAF, TMG, Legacy, RootsMagic and Family Tree Maker. The disadvantage is that it doesn't allow you to create or edit genealogy files, you can only read and analyse the information but the files must be already created. You can use ten different ways to show the genealogical content. You can view the header information of the file - depending on the genealogy file type the information is displayed. You can view detailed information about active individuals such as their parents, spouses, children, events, and notes. You can view up to 4 generations including siblings, children, and number of marriages. You can highlight individuals in order to analyse their information; you can include different conditions to show the desired individuals. You can view certain individuals and all relatives that are not related to others. You can view the general sources in the genealogy file. Finally, you can search the Internet for individuals in the genealogy file.
